Strategy
Getting any of the Emerald characters down is enough to win you the game as they are generally good questers with very good abilities to protect themselves.
Kuzco – Temperamental Emperor and Mad Hatter – Gracious Host are the main ones to aim for as they both have frustrating abilities to play against. They can both quest for three lore, as does Hans – Scheming Prince.
Cheshire Cat – Not All There, Jasper – Common Crook and Flynn Rider – Charming Rogue are all really good low cost characters and getting them down early on sets the tone of the deck.
Genie – On the Job offers an evasive option and also serves as a way to return a chosen character to their player’s hand. Mother Knows Best is another good choice for this.
Amethyst brings the card draw with cards such as Friends On The Other Side, The Queen – Wicked and Vain, and Maleficent – Sorceress. Not forgetting Emeralds Mad Hatter – Gracious Host too.
This deck contains 60 cards from the Ruby and Steel inks. There are a total of 24 Ruby cards and 36 Steel cards. A total of 36 Characters, 4 Items, and 20 Action cards, 4 of which are songs. There are 48 inkable and 12 non-inkable cards.
Decklist
Characters:
4x Aladdin – Cornered Swordsman, 4x Aladdin – Heroic Outlaw, 4x Aladdin – Street Rat, 4x Donald Duck – Musketeer, 4x Hans – Thirteenth in Line, 4x Hercules – True Hero, 4x Lefou – Instigator, 4x Simba – Future King, 4x Tinker Bell – Giant Fairy.
Items:
4x Shield of Virtue.
Actions:
4x Dragon Fire, 4x Fan The Flames, 4x Fire The Cannons!, 4x Grab Your Sword, 4x Smash.
Strategy for
The idea is to reset Aladdin – Heroic Outlaw to make use of his 4 lore swing. There are several ways to get the reset off with Lefou – Instigator, Shield of Virtue, and Fan The Flames. There are several options for shifting into big Aladdin from Aladdin – Cornered Swordsman and Aladdin – Street Rat to get him out sooner.
Resetting characters such as Hans – Thirteenth in Line and Tinker Bell – Giant Fairy are not bad either.
There are bodyguards in the deck to protect such characters: Donald Duck – Musketeer, Hercules – True Hero and Simba – Future King.
